Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greetings in Jesus’ love! Thank you to all who continue praying for my wife Rut. She was referred to a physical therapist for therapy and massage. Although she’s yet to see any improvement from the original pain, Rut’s back muscles seem less tender. Last week, she had an MRI scan, and we await the results.
Regarding the ministry, let me share some new plans and strategies to accomplish my vision of establishing more Indiana Hispanic churches. I will hold revivals and preaching events in different towns and cities. These will be preceded by months of prayer, planning, and promotion; plus training people to serve during and after those revivals. I want to start these preaching events in areas where our Latino churches are already established (Lafayette, Logansport, and Monticello), with the goal of extending the Lord’s Kingdom in those towns.
At these revivals, I want the English-speaking minister and churches of the surrounding towns to join us. We would be blessed by having English-speaking evangelists preaching to the Latinos, with the preaching simultaneously translated into Spanish. In future reports, I will inform you more about these events, as well as putting information and details about them on HOPE’s website and Facebook page (see top of this letter. If you’re not yet a Facebook fan, please like us!)
To the extent that more churches are established, we will need additional trained leaders to serve as evangelists in these congregations. Therefore, I’m in conversation with colleges and universities associated with the Restoration Movement to develop an educational program in Spanish in Indiana. Once the leaders complete their degree, they could establish and develop Hispanic congregations independently of me. Please join us in praying for this great purpose for the Kingdom.
In HOPE’s board meetings, we have discussed the possibility of establishing congregations among my relatives and friends in the Dominican Republic. I have spoken with my family and friends in the Dominican Republic about this vision and they are very excited. Some friends of mine have started gathering for home Bible studies. I want to visit the Dominican Republic this year to preach and teach Jesus’ gospel there and organize at least one congregation. Next year, I want to invite English and Spanish-speaking folks on a short-term mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Don’t worry, we will have interpreters! I will keep you informed about this plan.
Please keep these plans in your prayers, as well as Rut. We also need prayers for HOPE’s financial situation as some churches have cut back on their monthly support. If you’re not yet a financial supporter, please consider joining us in this great ministry for the glory of God. Regular contributions and even one-time contributions are so helpful. Please send them to HOPE Ministries at PO Box 211, Monticello, IN 47960. Thank you!
If you would like me to come and talk to your Missions team/committee or provide more details on what we’ve done, we’re doing, or plan to do, please contact me via phone or email. God is doing great things through HOPE Ministries and we’d like to spread the word.
