Rafael Tirado is a native of the Dominican Republic. He is married to Rut, and they have one daughter and two sons: Esther, Jose, and Juan. Rafael is a Hispanic missionary at Hispanic Outreach for Preaching and Evangelism (HOPE). He received his bachelor's degree in Theology (B.Th.) from Colegio Biblico, a master’s degree (M.A.) in Leadership Studies/Pastoral Leadership from Cincinnati Christian University, and is a Ph.D. student at Johnson University. In the Dominican Republic, Rafael also studied at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo and the Dominican Free Methodist Seminary.
