Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
My purpose and plan of work for 2016 is to glorify God and extend His kingdom. Having been entrusted with such a great gospel and noble task, I will labor hard to achieve the following goals:
I. To baptize ten people into Christ.
II. To develop the church of Lafayette and assign a minister to it (as we have done in both Logansport and Monticello).
III. To teach two courses for training the leaders from different towns where I am working; one course in the spring and the other in the fall.
IV. To have a summer camp, including the churches of Lafayette, Logansport, Monticello and Noblesville among others.
V. To have a bi-monthly combined service among Lafayette, Logansport, Monticello and Noblesville to increase the fellowship among congregations.
To further develop the church of Lafayette, I will place extra emphasis on teaching fundamental biblical doctrines such as baptism, spiritual growth, how Christians may be involved in ministry of the local church and how to give to the Lord. Hispanic people often struggle in these area because of their religious background. I plan to hold various programs focused on evangelism and preaching such as events focused on the families, weeks of preaching accompanied with personal invitation, home Bible studies and prayers, among others.
HOPE Ministries has developed an outstanding ministry amongst the Hispanic people in mid-north Indiana. These last fifteen years, the Lord has graciously worked through you and so many others to provide for us and assist in developing this ministry. I appreciate so much your faithful concern, care and support for HOPE Ministries. As partners in this much-needed ministry this coming year, can I count on your continued prayers and financial support? Also, please join me in praying that our Lord would provide additional churches or individuals to help meet our budget. While we praise the Lord for those who provide regular monthly support, we also praise Him for one-time gifts. It’s all for the Kingdom of God! The Lord is good.
And a correction (newspapers do it; I suppose I’m not immune!) In my December report I mentioned we baptized Damaris Morales and Yosdy Palencia in 2015. I am sorry I omitted the baptism of brother Sergio Alvarado.
