Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greetings in Jesus’ love! Dear Friends, thank you for keeping my family in your prayers. Please continue praying for us, especially Rut. She is still suffering from her pain, and her condition hasn’t improved yet. However, all the other members of the family are doing well.
I want to share with you some updates about the ministry.
Monticello This congregation is having a significant awakening, and frequently new people are joining in attendance. We are working and praying so they learn the plan of salvation, grow in faith and are baptized into Christ. Recently, a new family of six from Delphi started attending. Brother George Palencia is doing so well having a weekly Bible study in Logansport. He is also helping in the worship service leading songs, teaching, and preaching. People of the congregation are much encouraged, and as a result they are sharing Jesus’ Gospel with non-believers.
Lafayette In the last three months, this congregation has been slow about its development. However, I am planning a series of events to make new contacts before the bad weather season comes. During winter time, it is difficult to reach new people. My goal is to make two hundred new contacts, and later to evangelize those people. I hope many of you join us in this effort to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and grow the Kingdom of God. I sent many of you the details of this plan of work for Lafayette. I still need teachers and people to help us make contacts. I also need food items and school supplies for needy families. If you know brothers and sisters in your congregation who want to join us, please let me know.
The plans consist of passing out flyers, knocking on doors, and inviting people to our services in Lafayette during August the 15th, 16th, 23rd, 29th, and 30th. On those days we will have evening services and classes. The meeting place is Elmwood Church of Christ. The address is: 2501 Elmwood Ave, Lafayette, IN 47904. We will gather at 2:00 PM for prayer before leaving to contact people.
If any one individual or local congregation would like more details about this plan for Lafayette, please feel free to contact me. I am excited about seeing Spanish and English-speaking people working together to reach people for God’s Kingdom.
About HOPE’s finances: The finances of our ministry are so tight. We are two month’s behind in the mortgage reimbursement ($1500) and several months in the mileage reimbursement, too (again about $1500). Please keep us in your prayers that the Lord would provide new supporters for our ministry.
Blessings,
Rafael Tirado
